It’s spoken about more now than it has been in the last several hundred years (or more!). Popular media and general conversation finds perimenopause and menopause being spoken about more and more frequently…

But this transformation is still shrouded in a lack of understanding for anyone who is not experiencing it themselves. Whilst the main thread of messaging from a medical angle is that this is an ending of many things for women, our ancestors knew that this transformation was the one that allowed a woman to become what she was always destined to.

Whether it is the wise woman, the sage, the elder, the medicine woman, the seer… whatever identity this transformation brings you into alignment with, the process of Sagescence is one that has been forgotten as an empowering rite of passage, and turned into a much dreaded, fear-filled time, with ‘side effects’ that make life near-unbearable.

Whilst it is true that no transformation in identity is comfortable, and that none of the three EmpowerHER focusses on are easy, it is also an incredible shame not to shine a light on what an wonderfully powerful time this is for women.

It’s also so important for Community, for without the knowledge of the women who came before us, we cannot progress into women who are rooted in the knowledge of our ancestors.
